You’re a Champion in your own right.
There’s no competition when you’re focused on being the best version of yourself.
Why?
You’re a Champion in your own right!
Let me take you for a walk down my hall of “I need some encouragement!”
Growing up, my pops once told me, you may get hit, hurt, and discouraged at different points along your life’s journey, but never lose sight of who you are. You are a fighter. You are unique. And golly Pete you have a light living within you that no one can blow out unless you allow them to. So when you find yourself facing your walls or giants, what are you going to do, child? Will you fight, or will you run? The choice is up to you, but know that one option will allow you to experience life in ways you can’t imagine, and another choice will position you to be a slave to your emotions.
So break, break, here we are nearly 20 years later, and my pop’s questions remain relevant today.
“You have a light living within you that no one can blow out unless you allow them to.“
I’m not sure where you are on your journey, but at some point, we all face those moments where turning around, stopping, or throwing in the towel seems more appealing than others. Yet, while it may be more desirable, our stagnation causes us to rob our future from fully developing into its maximum purpose. Or in other cases, it impacts our future generations from experiencing something dependent upon our ability to maximize our potential.
Listen, beloved, I know life is complicated, challenging, uncertain, and a complex novel. Nevertheless, life doesn’t have to swallow you whole. Yes, you may find yourself going toe to toe with something that never seems to cease, but beloved, keep fighting. Your fight builds your endurance, and because you’re stronger than what you give yourself credit for, you’ll come out on top if you make the resolve NOT to GIVE UP!
Look, the picture connected with this post means more than what you see. I’m only standing because I kept fighting. No one else could fight in my place, and no one could walk in my shoes. Therefore, I made the resolve to lace my sneakers, tighten my gloves and learn how to mix the proper footwork with the jab combinations to stay in the ring. Trust me; it’s not easy by any stretch of the imagination. Each round gets more challenging because you get tired and sore, but that physical feeling shouldn’t impact your mindset. Your mind is a muscle, and if you condition it to remain focused and engaged, you can win the fight before the physical work begins.
“Make the resolve NOT to GIVE UP!“
So for this particular day, as you marinate on the questions my dad once posed to me, I have an additional question to add. Are you willing to tighten your gloves, restring your shoes, drink a swig of water, and get your head back in the game so that you win the fight?
I believe you can do it. I just hope you’re willing to take a moment to believe in yourself.
Keep fighting the good fight and cheers to you walking in your best!
Signed,
Your sideline fighter, encourager, and cheerleader, Mahalia💫
