Fear and shame are hurdles that we all face at some point along our journey. These nuisances keep us from experiencing freedom, love, divine connections, and most importantly, fulfilling the purpose that’s assigned to our life.

I know all too well about grappling with fear and feeling suffocated by shame. Yet, at some point along the way, I experienced a breakthrough that gave me just enough oxygen to start living again. The breakthrough wasn’t grand or surrounded by a robust celebration. It was subtle, intimate, and internal. It brought forth the revelation that we’re all imperfect beings with unique purposes; however, if we hide and run from pushing past every uncomfortable moment, we miss an opportunity to break past the walls that block us from reaching our destiny.

You see, what separates the overcomers from those who walk in defeat is an unyielding mindset to thrive no matter what. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully grasp the magnitude of the power behind cultivating this mindset in the early stages of my journey, but I’m so grateful for having the lightbulb on now. I say all this to say that if the girl next door who was previously called washed goods and counted out for her missteps could regain her strength, foster a new mindset and step into her true identity, the same is possible for you.

We’re all imperfect beings with unique purposes.

No matter how far you feel from your purpose or your next goal, don’t stop fighting. The pressure and stretching are necessary to reshape you, prepare you, and mature you for what’s before you. If your opponent can paralyze you before you even reach your subsequent victory, then he has hindered another jewel from bettering this world.

Life’s challenges aren’t targeted at you; they’re targeted at the spirit living within you. Remember, you’re a vessel that carries an assignment intended to leave a forever imprint for humanity.
